racial progress

This link is about Roger Ebert's point of view on the 2005 racial film "Crash" . In the review he gives a short summary plot of the controversial film as well as discusses who he believes is the strongest character in the film. Not only does he give his opinions about the film but he also gives hints on his opinion on the progress of racism today.

"All of these people, superficially so different, share the city and learn that they share similar fears and hopes. Until several hundred years ago, most people everywhere on earth never saw anybody who didn't look like them. They were not racist because, as far as they knew, there was only one race. You may have to look hard to see it, but "Crash" is a film about progress."

Although Ebert knows that no ones life is going to be drastically changed after watching this movies he does hope that there may be "alittle more sympathy" for what others are going through.
