"The Punisher"-Great adaptation of the comic

I recently bought this movie starring Thomas Jane as FBI Special Agent Frank Castle. Castle is taking part in his last undercover operation for the Bureau when the operation goes wrong. A local crime lord, Howard Saint, played beautifully by John Travolta, loses a son in the shootout that happens. When he finds out that Castle had a hand in the opeartion he sends his lieutenant Quentin Glass, played by Will Patton, to kill every member of Castle's family. They are conviently all in the same location, a family reunion in Puerto Rico. When Castle's family is slaughtered, Castle is then taken to the edge of a dock and seemingly shot and blown up, left for dead. Thus it is a suprise for Howard Saint and the world when Castle reappears months later hell bent on revenge.

Overall, I think that this was a great film adaptation of a very dark comic book character. Thomas Jane really came off as a great choice to play Frank Castle.

The reviewer, Rebecca Murray of the San Diego Film Critics Society, had this to say about the film "I find it really strange anyone would watch "The Punisher" and come out upset about the film's violence. Come on. Did anyone seriously believe a movie called "The Punisher" would be about kitty cats and dandelions?"

Hey Ricky-- I just wanted to remind you of one thing! You mentioned to me after class that you wanted to write a review of The Punisher... but that means that you probably won't want to also choose a review of The Punisher to use as your review model... because if you're writing a review of The Punisher using a review of The Punisher as your model you're just going to end up basically re-writing the review. Does that make sense? If not, fire me an e-mail.
