This review of "The Ring 2" compares it to the original Japanese version as well as to the first film. The reviewer critiques the actors; "...it was a mistake to bring back Naomi Watts for the sequel, her contractual obligation notwithstanding." In his opinion this film is not scary enough, "What we need is the return of the good old-fashioned R-rated horror film."
